Aspen Systems, LLC is looking for a motivated technician to work with our engineering team to build, optimize, and test miniature cooling systems. The candidate is expected to work with our engineers on prototype units in the initial build phase of a project. The candidate will be expected to communicate concisely with the engineering team. The candidate should be able to work independently to build and test prototypes when provided with the proper project definition.

Aspen Systems, LLC is looking for a motivated technician to work with our engineering team to build, optimize, and test miniature cooling systems. The candidate should be able to work independently to build and test prototypes when provided with the proper project definition.
Responsibilities
- Work with the engineering design team to build prototype units – this includes reading engineering assembly drawings and mechanical part drawings.
- Build systems and test fixtures according to engineering specifications – this involves the following skills:
- Mechanical assembly
- Brazing (copper, aluminum, stainless steel)
- Charging refrigeration systems with refrigerant
- Bending copper tubes to drawings
- Insulating
- Simple electrical wiring
- Instrument prototype and breadboard systems with thermocouples and pressure gauges.
- Execute tests on breadboard and prototype systems.
- Understand and communicate preliminary test results.
Qualifications
- Experience with refrigeration systems is a plus
- Experience with brazing is a major plus
- 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Experience reading engineering documentation, such as product specifications, system schematics, and test procedures
- Experience with building of electrical and mechanical systems
- Self-motivated: able to work independently with engineering guidance
- Experience working in an ISO 9001-compliant environment
- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to review CAD models
