The Aspen Community School is seeking a dedicaed full-time First and Second Grade Classroom Teacher with a strong background in early literacy, math, and social emotional development for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Aspen Community School is a public charter school in Woody Creek, Colorado serving 135 students. Position Title: First & Second Grade Classroom Teacher
Reports to: Casey White, ACS Principal
Classification: Certified Full-time Exempt
Contract Period: 9 Month (186 days) at 1.0 FTE
Primary Location: Aspen Community School, Woody Creek, CO
Compensation: $57,000-$76,000 depending on education and experience
2026-27 Aspen Community School Salary Schedule Housing negotiable when units are available

First & Second Grade Classroom Teacher Role, listed below but not limited to:
- Establish a safe, respectful learning environment for all students, integrating ACS expectations for academic excellence, relevance, and focus on relationships.
- Strong background in literacy instruction, formative data collection, and intervention.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons to students within a co-teaching model in Reading, Math, and Writing
- Create lessons aligned with current standards, with established clear objectives and drive instruction through formative and summative assessments.
- Demonstrate a mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s) taught.
- Differentiate instruction for students based on their educational needs, abilities, and interests.
- Engage parents in the education of their children.
- Strong desire to be a part of a high functioning, positive, and energetic teaching team and community.
Requirements:
Qualification Requirements:
- Current Colorado Teaching License with Elementary endorsement
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Degree in Education (Masters preferred)
- Teaching Experience- preferred 3 years
Curricula Knowledge (Preferred):
- Balanced Literacy Approach, Workshop Model
- Teachers College Reading, Writing, and Phonics Units of Study
- Science of Reading
- Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA3)
- EnVision Math
Physical Requirements
