Early Childhood Teacher – Part-Time or Full-Time for Aspen Grove Caterpillars
Please note the following key points for this job:
- anticipated start date is September due to OCFS clearance requirements.
- If you are already in the NYS OCFS system, there is an option to start in June or July.
- We are also seeking qualified substitute teachers for ALL shifts (8am-1pm; 8:30 to 5pm and 10am-5pm)
We are an Early Care and Education Program serving children ages 16 months to three years old in downtown Ithaca, NY. We're seeking fun, energetic individuals who are passionate about working with young children in a collaborative team-teaching environment.
We are seeking someone who can commit to the following schedule specifically
(please do not apply if these hours do not work for you):
- Monday: 10am-5pm with 30 minute break
- Tuesday: 10am-5pm with 30 minute break
- Wednesday: 10am-5pm with 30 minute break
- Thursday: 8:30 to 5pm with one hour break
- Friday: 8:30 to 5pm with one hour break
There is some flexibility for one of the Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday days to be an 8-1 schedule instead of a 10am-5pm schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with children in a safe, nurturing environment
- Prepare meals and snacks
- Assist children with bathroom and diapering needs
- Complete required paperwork and documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents and families
- Display student work and maintain classroom environment
- Other duties as assigned
Compensation: $20.00/hour.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience caring for young children
- Ability to lift 35 pounds
- Clean background check/fingerprints
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with children and parents
Preferred Qualifications:
- ECE (Early Childhood Education) credit hours
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credential
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
