Overview:
RDNC is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Clinical Registered Dietitian to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a clinician who thrives in a dynamic acute care environment and values flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful patient care.
Schedule: 32–40 hours per week (flexible days/hours)
Compensation: $50.00–$55.00 per hour (based on experience) benefits & mileage reimbursement
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients at nutritional risk, following facility policies and clinical best practices
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized, evidence-based nutrition care plans for patients with complex medical conditions
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and families focused on acute disease management, discharge readiness, and reducing risk of readmission
- Collaborate proactively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, SLPs, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members to improve patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, CMS/TJC regulatory standards, and acute care nutrition guidelines
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, demonstrating medical necessity and intervention effectiveness
- Monitor changes in clinical status, including weight trends, labs, and fluid balance, adjusting interventions as needed
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical rounds, and committee activities to enhance patient safety and nutrition services
- Serve as a nutrition expert and resource for hospital staff, supporting ongoing education and interdisciplinary development
- Perform other duties within scope of practice as assigned
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- 1–3 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting (required)
- Strong background in managing patients with diverse, complex medical conditions
- Proficiency in enteral and parenteral nutrition support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure clinical environments
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time-sensitive decision-making skills
- Familiarity with acute care workflows, EHR systems, and hospital regulatory standards
- Ability to prioritize independently and work autonomously while contributing meaningfully to the care team
