About Asian Family MarketAsian Family Market (AFM) is the Pacific Northwest’s destination for authentic Asian groceries, specialty produce, and fresh/live seafood. We’re seeking a hands-on Grocery (Seattle Store) Manager to lead merchandising, inventory, and team performance for dry grocery, beverages, snacks, housewares, and Frozen Food.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the department P&L: deliver sales, margin, labor %, and shrink goals; manage inventory turns and in-stock %.
- Merchandising & planograms: lead weekly sets/resets, endcaps, seasonal features, and ad/program execution; ensure scan/pricing accuracy and signage.
- Ordering & inventory control: forecast demand, manage backstock and negative on-hands, process cycle counts and claims, and reduce out-of-stocks.
- Vendor relations: coordinate DSD and wholesaler deliveries, negotiate promos, resolve shorts/credits, and align on ad calendars.
- Team leadership: hire, train, schedule, and coach a multicultural team; uphold safety, SOPs, and a great customer experience.
- Compliance & operations: maintain food-safety/WA code standards, clean/organized stockroom, accurate temp logs (for applicable categories), and audit readiness.
- Cross-functional: partner with produce, meat/seafood, front end, and e-commerce to support promotions and online fulfillment.
Qualifications
- 3 years of center store/grocery leadership (assistant manager or manager).
- Proven results in margin management, shrink reduction, and labor planning.
- Strong planogram/reset skills; comfort with POS/back-office systems and Excel/Google Sheets.
- Experience with ethnic/specialty assortments a plus; bilingual (Chinese, or Spanish) is a must.
Compensation & Schedule
- Salary-based position starting at $78,000.00 - $91,000.00 per year
