We are a fast-growing aggregate trucking company specializing in the hauling of sand, gravel, rock, and other construction materials. We pride ourselves on delivering reliable service, maintaining strong customer partnerships, and operating a safe, efficient fleet. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead our dispatch, driver, and billing teams while ensuring exceptional customer service. This is a full operational leadership role responsible for elevating execution standards across the organization. Salary to be determine based on experience.
The Director of Operations is expected to:
· Move the organization from reactive management to proactive operational control
· Establish consistent execution standards across all field functions
· Drive accountability at every level of dispatch, fleet, labor, and safety operations
· Reduce dependency on ownership for daily problem-solving and escalation
· Build scalable systems, processes, leadership discipline, and cross-company operational efficiencies across TKMS, Lou’s, and sister company operations. This role is accountable for creating operational maturity, predictability, and control at scale.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dispatch & Daily Execution Leadership
· Own daily and weekly dispatch operations, including scheduling, load coverage, and truck utilization
· Adjust real-time operations to ensure service continuity and efficiency
· Serve as the primary operational decision-maker for dispatch execution
· Interface with dispatchers, supervisors, and field leadership (ownership escalations only when necessary)
2. Driver & Labor Management
· Own driver performance management, coaching, discipline, and accountability standards
· Ensure consistent enforcement of company policies and operational expectations
· Address performance issues directly and escalate high-risk or union-related disciplinary matters as needed
3. Union Operations (Operational Compliance Only)
· Oversee day-to-day adherence to collective bargaining agreement requirements
· Maintain compliance with union rules and coordinate with union representatives on operational matters
· Identify and escalate grievances early
· This role does not participate in contract negotiation or labor strategy
4. Safety & Regulatory Compliance
· Own DOT/FMCSA compliance, inspections, audits, and corrective action processes
· Track and report safety metrics, violations, and incident trends
· Ensure consistent compliance across all operational functions
5. Fleet Maintenance Coordination
· Own preventative maintenance scheduling and execution coordination
· Prioritize repairs based on operational impact and safety requirements
· Coordinate with internal maintenance teams and external vendors to minimize downtime
6. Job-Site & Material Logistics
· Oversee job-site sequencing, material movement, and field logistics coordination
· Resolve real-time site-level operational issues to maintain productivity and flow
· Ensure alignment between dispatch, field teams, and project requirements
7. Reporting, KPIs & Operational Visibility
· Own daily, weekly, and monthly operational reporting
· Track and manage key performance indicators, including:
· Truck utilization
· On-time performance
· Downtime
· Safety incidents
· Labor performance
· Accounts receivable aging
· Past-due customer balances
· Billing accuracy and timeliness
Provide proactive risk identification and early warning signals to leadership
8. Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Leadership
· Standardize best practices and drive operational efficiencies across TKMS, Lou’s, and sister company operations
· Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments, sister companies, and ASI to improve workflows, systems, communication, and execution outcomes
· Own the operational management, administration, and optimization of the company CRM platform, including process consistency, reporting, workflow management, and user accountability
· Partner with the Sales Manager, who is responsible for CRM data input, sales activity execution, and pipeline management
9. CRM Operational Management

Does NOT Own:
· Union contract negotiation or labor strategy
· Pricing, sales, or customer contracting
· Capital expenditure approvals
· Long-term corporate strategy (provides input only)
