We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Control Analyst to join our growing team in The Woodlands, Texas. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our certified reference materials, which support laboratories and industries around the world in achieving precise elemental analysis.
As a Quality Control Analyst, you will:
- Prepare, test, and validate calibration and quality control standards using advanced analytical techniques, including XRF, ICP-OES, UV Fluorescence, and Microcoulometry.
- Perform method validation, data review, and documentation in compliance with ISO 17034 and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Collaborate closely with production and quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
- Contribute to maintaining ASI Standards’ reputation for delivering high-quality, reliable, and accredited reference materials to our customers.

SUMMARY
Performs QC Analyst tasks: Supports the ASI Standards Quality Control program by using in-house laboratory-based instrumentation and techniques. Confirms that the required quality parameters for ASI products and raw materials are within specification.
Key Areas of Responsibility (KAR)
· Quality Inspection of final products
· Serves as operator of all quality control instrumentation
o Routine operation of instrumentation
o SQC Charting
· Helps maintain and document quality of stock solutions and raw materials
- Helps with Overall QC Lab Cleanliness
- Publishes: Certificates of Analysis, Production Non-Conformance documentation and QMS control charts.
- Review analysis data from testing
- QC lab Inventory
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Activities include:
- Operation, test method set-up/calibration (as required) of ASI analytical and production equipment:
· Combustion analyzers
· X-ray analyzers
· Titration analyzers
· ICP Analyzer
· Balances
· Other analyzers as needed
- Analyzes ASI produced materials to confirm quality:
- Conducts testing of materials produced by ASI production and product development.
- Documents test results and coordinates with ASI production and QC Manager to require rework / remakes and other corrective actions.
- Helps maintain production non-conformance records
- Conducts NIST traceability testing regimes and keeps records
- Helps maintain the ASI Standards statistical quality control program
- Conducts testing of materials purchased for use in ASI production
- Monitors and maintains ASI in-house stock solutions:
· Routinely (weekly or monthly as required) inspects KANBAN stock solutions for the following:
o Adequate volumes
o Shelf-life compliance
o General appearance
- Assists in the production (formulation) of materials needed for routine production and special (product development) projects as required.
- Assists production product preparation and packaging activities as required.
Quality Inspection
- Inspect finished products, documentation (COAs, SDS, Labels, Customer specific Requirements, quantities, volumes etc)
- Ensure errors are corrected
- Sign off on the order and move it to the packaging area.
OTHER DUTIES
- QC Lab Inventory and equipment
- Conducts (monthly/quarterly) inventory counts inside the QC as required.
- Helps maintain QC lab cleanliness and records activity on the preventative maintenance checklist as required
- Completes ongoing training for continued personal and professional development
- Manufacturing lab standard operating procedures
- Safety Policy and Procedures
- Statistical Quality Control
- Others as required by supervisor
- Assist receipt and inspection of incoming goods and raw materials as required
- Places internal buy signals for reagents, supplies, resell items, etc. as requested
- Electronically file copies of all standards preparation spreadsheets.
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the ASI team.
- Maintain proficiency in using personal computer and other common office equipment and software.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors.
- Follows safety protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REPORTING & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The QC Analyst reports to the QC Manager. There are typically no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree (Chemistry, Science or related discipline is preferred)
Overall analytical laboratory experience will be considered.
· 1-3 years of experience in an analytical lab environment.
· Experience in operating X ray fluorescence analyzer.
· Experience in combustion analysis and/or auto-titration systems.
· Quality control program principals and documentation familiarity.
· Modern computer skills, good Microsoft Office programs experience.
· Petroleum laboratory / ASTM test method experience is desired.
· Experience in Good Lab Practices
