What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Cutter 1 position at Ashton Potter?
SUMMARY
Responsible for operating the die cutting equipment to successfully die cut printed products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set-up and operate rotary (web) die-cutting equipment.
- Perform job change over and preventative maintenance on equipment. Assist maintenance as needed.
- Use automated vision system for product inspections as well as performing all necessary quality checks and evaluations.
- Load rolls of printed paper onto equipment and remove either rolls or sheeted product.
- Move product to and from area using material handling equipment and eventually become certified to use powered material handling equipment including forklifts. Must work safely with other crew members on presses & use extreme caution around plant employees & visitors while driving different fork trucks.
- Prepare all necessary paperwork including waste logs, production and accountability reporting, time sheets, material usage, etc, to support the above tasks.
- Perform job duties according to customer and company quality and security specifications.
- Perform tasks safely and in accordance with Ashton Potter health & safety, attendance and other company policies and procedures. Inform supervision of unsafe conditions or practices.
- Keep work area clean and organized.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection may be required. Steel toe shoes are required.

EDUCATION and/ or EXPERIENCE
- High School Education or general education degree (GED)
- Forklift certificate or ability to obtain at Ashton Potter
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. May be called upon to move loaded pallets using manual floor jacks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
