What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clerk position at Ashtabula License Bureau?
- Process vehicle registrations, renewals, temporary tags, and license plate transactions
- Issue and renew Ohio driver licenses and state identification cards
- Verify legal documents including proof of identity, residency, Social Security information, etc
- Process vehicle titles, transfers, and notary-related paperwork
- Collect state fees, taxes, and payments while balancing cash drawers accurately
- Operate Ohio BMV computer systems for customer records and transaction processing
- Explain Ohio motor vehicle laws, registration requirements, and licensing procedures to customers
- Assist customers with reinstatement requirements, suspensions, and compliance documentation
- Review applications for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with Ohio regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer information
- Handle high-volume customer traffic while providing professional customer service
- Resolve customer concerns and difficult situations calmly and efficiently
- Prepare daily transaction reports and reconcile financial records
- Maintain organized filing systems and accurate state records
- Follow Ohio BMV security, fraud prevention, and identity verification procedures
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 36.0 per week
