Ashtabula County District Library (ACDL) is seeking a detail-oriented professional with a passion for community-driven services to be its next Fiscal Officer. The Fiscal Officer ensures that all financial operations comply with statutes of the State of Ohio, state auditing requirements, sound financial practices, and decisions of the Board of Trustees. The Fiscal Officer works with the Director to coordinate finance, payroll, employee benefits & health insurance, building insurance, and telecommunications activities of the library.
Desirables include a Bachelor's degree (preferred) or Associate's degree with emphasis on accounting or business finance; three or more years of governmental accounting (GAAP) and budgeting experience; and knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertinent to fiscal operations. Must be qualified to be fully bonded and must attain (and maintain) State of Ohio Fiscal Officer Certification in accordance with the Fiscal Integrity Act within six months of hire. Position is 20 - 24 hours/week (assigned by contract) with sick, holiday, vacation benefits, and employee participation in OPERS.
With a staff of 36 employees, ACDL boasts two physical buildings, a digital library, and a bookmobile. The main library in Ashtabula received a major expansion in 2015, doubling the size of the previous site. A new bookmobile was purchased in 2024. The Geneva branch opened a 9000 sq ft expansion featuring a new teen area, makerspace, and meeting room in August 2025. And we're just getting started!
