Essential Function
- Lead mechanical design efforts for automation projects, including robotics cell design, sensor and motor placement, and component integration
- Develop and optimize designs focused on manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance enhancement
- Utilize advanced SolidWorks skills to create detailed assemblies and 3D models aligned with manufacturing requirements
- Apply FEA simulation to validate mechanical designs and ensure robustness and reliability
- Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) and related documentation to support procurement and production
- Conduct safety system implementation and verification, ensuring compliance with ISO 12100, ANSI B11, and ISO 13849 standards
- Use robotics simulation tools such as RoboGuide or equivalent, and FlexSim for layout and performance modeling
- Employ Matlab or equivalent software for analysis and optimization of control systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers to ensure design integration and project success
- Manage project timelines and deliverables within a $3MM scope, ensuring adherence to budget and quality standards
- Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting production efficiency
