What are the responsibilities and job description for the Piano Accompanist/Collaborator position at Asheville Waldorf School?
The Asheville Waldorf School is seeking a part-time accompanist to play for our movement (Eurythmy) classes for grades 1-8. We believe children need live and well-played music for the healthy development of their bodies and their souls. The music for eurythmy is almost entirely classical and strong sight-reading skills are important for the role. Although the pianist does not have as much interaction with the students, it is very helpful if they enjoy being around children. Music will range in difficulty from simple folk melodies to complex classical.
Classes are generally scheduled between 10:30am -2:15pm with an average of 10 hours per week.
**Strong sight-reading skills and an artistic sense of music are essential**
