Ashe County Cheese is looking for friendly, dependable team members to join our retail store for the busy holiday season! We are looking for individuals who enjoy helping customers, keeping the store organized, and working as part of a team.
This position includes a variety of duties, from assisting customers and operating the cash register to stocking shelves, packaging products, scooping ice cream, and helping unload and put away merchandise deliveries. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who is willing to jump in wherever needed to help keep our store running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful customer service.
- Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately.
- Scoop and serve ice cream to customers.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays with merchandise.
- Package and label products for retail sale.
- Unload, sort, and put away merchandise from incoming pallets and deliveries.
- Keep shelves, displays, and store areas clean, neat, and organized.
- Assist customers with product questions and help them find what they need.
- Maintain product displays and ensure merchandise is properly stocked.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness guidelines.
- Assist with other store duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Friendly, dependable, and punctual.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Must be available to work Saturdays.
- Comfortable handling cash and operating a register, or willing to learn.
- Able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift and move merchandise as needed.
- Willing to perform a variety of tasks throughout the workday.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Previous retail, food service, or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
