Job Description:
The Senior ECVC Associate role at Ashbury is designed for attorneys with substantial experience supporting emerging technology companies. This role provides a path to partnership within an innovative, fast-growing law firm. As a Senior ECVC Associate, you will help partners manage their book while mentoring and training junior associates and paralegals.
At Ashbury, you will:
- Work directly with partners, including our founding partner, to manage their high-volume practice.
- Manage day-to-day client relationships and act as the primary point of contact for founders, executives and investors.
- Independently manage strategic transactions, including SAFE financings, preferred stock financings, corporate restructurings and mergers and acquisitions.
- Field inbound client requests covering a variety of practice areas (e.g., tax, employment, tech transactions, intellectual property, privacy, litigation, etc.) and manage a team of specialists to deliver client outcomes.
- Develop the deep technical and regulatory knowledge needed to help launch cutting-edge technologies in uncertain regulatory environments.
- Train, manage and mentor junior associates and paralegals.
- Develop and publish thought leadership to position you and Ashbury at the forefront of legal and technological innovation.
- Create and improve upon internal systems – including targeted AI implementations – designed to make life easier for clients and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school.
- 7-8 years of ECVC experience at an Am Law 100 firm.
- Experience with blockchain, fintech, AI, robotics or other frontier technologies.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ownership mentality and exceptional attention to detail.
Benefits:
- Salary range of $295,000 - $307,500.
- Discretionary bonus range of $73,750 to $83,025.
- Low billable hour target of 1,400 hours/year.
