Our client is a Miami Design District-based luxury interiors and furniture company specialising in ultra-high-end residential and commercial projects.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to take ownership of the company’s accounts and day-to-day finance function. This is a senior, hands-on role reporting directly to the COO and Owner, with responsibility for accounting operations, financial reporting, cash flow management, and continuous process improvement within a fast-paced, design-led business.
The position offers hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting and month-end close process
- Oversee cash flow management and forecasting
- Manage accounts receivable, billing, and collections
- Oversee accounts payable and vendor management
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packs
- Monitor budgets and perform variance analysis
- Maintain and improve accounting systems, controls, and processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial controls
- Provide financial insight to ownership to support decision-making
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8 years’ accounting experience, ideally within SME/high-growth environments. Furniture, interiors, manufacturing or construction experience could be advantageous
- Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
- Experience with project-based accounting is advantageous
- Advanced Excel skills and strong accounting systems capability
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Comfortable working autonomously and improving existing processes
