Water Treatment Technician Trainee
Ashberry is a commercial water treatment company specializing in commercial, industrial and medical water treatment that was founded in 1947. We currently have locations in Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville.

Job Responsibilities:
Assist with and learn the Field Service Technician Job responsibilities. These include but are not limited to the following duties in either a solo or team setting depending on the specific job needs:
Installation and removal of water treatment equipment such as:
- Water softeners
- Reverse Osmosis systems
- Deionization tanks
- Filtration systems
Plumbing to install bypasses, interconnections of water treatment equipment, drains, ect.
- Includes PVC & copper piping up to 4” diameter.
Performing preventive maintenance, scheduled service and emergency repairs as needed. Includes but is not limited to:
- Filter and membrane changes
- Water sample collection and testing
- Rebedding of media tanks
- Rebuilding of valves
- System disinfections
- Controller programming and troubleshooting
- Diagnostics and analysis to trouble-shoot and repair equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
- Communicate with the customer around repair needs and costs to enable on the spot approvals for repairs
- Educating the customer on functionality of their water treatment equipment as needed
Delivery and installation of products/equipment.
Assist in maintaining organization and cleanliness of warehouse and office space
Completing paperwork related to tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
- Service Appointment notes
- Inventory tracking logs
- Truck stock logs
Other duties as required by management
Communicating in a positive manner with customers and maintaining positive relations with fellow employees.
Following all rules and regulations pertaining to safety and Ashberry policies.
Ability to work flexible hours. Standard working hours are from 7:30am to 5.00 pm M-F, however, we are a 24/7/365 service company. Therefore:
- Overtime and weekend work may be necessary, including evening hours.
- Overnight trips may be required but are limited
- Participation in a paid, rotating after hours on call schedule is required once you complete the training to become a full technician.
Essential Qualifications:
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Basic computer and phone skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70-pound objects
- Ability to push, twist and pull up to 250 pounds
- Ability to safely use power tools
- Ability to climb in and out of a vehicle repeatedly and drive for up to 8 hours
- Ability to climb ladders, reach, stand, sit, kneel, and walk for extended periods

Compensation
- Paid hourly overtime commission (sales and installations)
- $18-$20 hourly pay depending on prior experience
- A complete benefits package, including health care insurance and a matching 401k, is offered.
- After a 90 Day probationary period, or at the discretion of management you will receive the following:
- Safety equipment, boots and uniform supplied after probation period
- Your own hand tools are required, some company tools supplied
