What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Accountant & Accounts Payable position at ASD | SKY?
ASD|SKY, a progressive interior design, architectural and graphics firm, has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant to handle various functions with primary focus on Accounts Payable and Project Accounting for one division of the company.
Ideal candidate should have between 3-5 years in accounting experience. Candidates MUST have Accounts Payable experience in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
- Maintains and monitors the listing of accounts payable
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Audit all expense reports for accuracy
- Process check requests and weekly check runs
- Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
- Corresponds with vendors, set-up new vendors, and maintains updated vendor profiles
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
Project and Operational Accounting
- Handle all Project accounting for a division with the company – including invoicing
- Assist with month end close
- Operational data input into management reports
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts
- Reconciling accounts payable accounts
- Assist with other projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent field required; equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience may be considered.
- 3 years of accounting experience
- Ability to deal with confidential items
- Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Prior experience in professional accounting environment is required
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in all MS Office programs with Excel skills being key component
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and independently
- Candidates must be able to multi-task without issue
- Deadline and detail oriented
