Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Residential Concrete Laborer to join our team. This entry-to-mid-level, hands-on role supports our concrete finishers and crew in all aspects of preparing, pouring, and completing residential concrete projects. You'll handle the physical labor that makes high-quality flatwork possible, working outdoors on driveways, patios, walkways, and other home features.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare job sites by clearing debris, excavating, grading, and leveling areas for concrete pours
- Assist in setting, aligning, and bracing forms to specified depth, pitch, and grade
- Install rebar, wire mesh, or other reinforcements as directedMix concrete (by hand or using mixers), transport, pour, and spread material using shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes, and screeds
- Vibrate and consolidate concrete to eliminate voids and ensure proper placementAssist with basic finishing tasks such as floating, edging, and jointing under supervision
- Cut expansion/control joints and apply curing compounds or sealantsClean and maintain tools, equipment, and the job site throughout the day
- Load/unload materials, tools, and equipment; perform general site cleanup and demolition when needed
- Follow all safety protocols and work efficiently as part of a team to meet project deadlines
Experience:
- Previous experience in construction, concrete work, or general labor (1 years preferred; entry-level candidates with strong work ethic will be considered)
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks: stand/kneel/bend for long periods, lift 50 lbs repeatedly, work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's licenseBasic tool knowledge (shovels, wheelbarrows, levels, etc.) and willingness to learn
- Strong attention to safety, teamwork, and a positive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions from foremen and finishers
