The Finance Manager will serve as a key financial leader responsible for driving the organization’s planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and decision-support activities. This role offers significant visibility, autonomy, and impact, including the ability to lead cross-functional planning cycles, influence senior leadership, and ensure high-quality financial deliverables. Depending on structure, this role may directly manage and develop a team of finance professionals.
Key Focus Areas
- Lead the development, consolidation, and delivery of annual operating plans, periodic forecasts, and long-range financial models.
- Build and present concise, meaningful financial summaries, scenario models, and strategic financial insight to senior leadership.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including forecasts, performance metrics, and analysis of results.
- Lead special financial projects involving profitability, pricing, investment analysis, cash flow, inventory, cost management, and other strategic priorities.
- Build strong relationships across functional areas and with external business partners.
- Provide leadership and direction to FP&A or decision-support teams, including staffing, performance management, and professional development.
- Develop and enhance financial processes, models, reporting tools, controls, and system frameworks to strengthen operational efficiency and analytical rigor.
Ideal Background
- 7–10 years of progressive finance or FP&A experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; advanced education or professional certification is an asset.
- Experience working within a plant and/or manufacturing context
- Excellent communication and presentation, strong judgment, prioritization skills
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team.
