Pawnee Behavioral Health, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services, is seeking an experienced PRN / On-Call Nurse Practitioner (NP) to support medical coverage at our active substance use disorder treatment facility. This role is ideal for a clinically confident NP who values flexibility while delivering high-quality, compassionate, recovery-oriented care.
General Description
The PRN / On-Call Nurse Practitioner provides medical and psychiatric assessment, medication management, and clinical decision-making support for patients receiving substance use disorder treatment. This role collaborates closely with nursing, clinical leadership, and operations to ensure safe detoxification, continuity of care, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform medical evaluations as needed
- Manage detoxification, withdrawal, and MAT protocols
- Prescribe medications in accordance with clinical protocols and state/federal regulations
- Provide clinical guidance to nursing staff during on-call situations
- Respond to medical or psychiatric concerns and emergencies
- Document all care accurately and timely in the EHR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient safety and outcomes
- Participate in quality, compliance, and clinical review activities as requested
Qualifications
Required
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN); DNP preferred
- Current, unrestricted Oklahoma Nurse Practitioner license
- Eligible for DEA registration with Schedule III authority
- Current CPR certification
Preferred
- Certification as FNP or PMHNP
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, detox, or inpatient/residential settings
- Strong working knowledge of MAT, withdrawal management, and psychotropic medications

Work Conditions
