The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial customers. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including diagnosing electronic, mechanical, and electrical components
- Travel to job sites within the service area and coordinate with dispatch to maintain schedules and communicate delays
- Provide emergency service during nights and weekends on a rotating basis
- Maintain company vehicle, including cleanliness, fueling, inspections, and reporting mechanical issues
- Keep vehicle stocked with necessary tools, parts, and safety equipment
- Track and submit mileage logs and required documentation
- Generate invoices on-site, process payments, and obtain customer signatures and accurate contact information
- Document installed equipment (make, model, serial number, fuel type, test measurements, photos)
- Diagnose system issues, perform repairs, calibrate systems to manufacturer standards, and clearly explain solutions to customers
- Participate in ongoing training on new technologies and industry best practices
- Identify opportunities for additional services, upgrades, or service contracts
Qualifications & Education:
- 5 – 7 years of HVAC installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience
- Commercial Experience Preferred.
- High School or GED, trade school certification, or equivalent on the job experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical plans, and manuals
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently and accurately
Skills & Competencies:
- Communication: Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to deal directly with clients and team members.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass required drug testing
- Bi-Lingual English/Spanish preferred not required
