II. SUMMARY OF POSITION’S PURPOSE
To collect, manage and assimilate all relevant data for our computerized routing services and properly manage the overall safety and efficiency of all routes by analyzing and assessing bus routing to provide solutions that increase vehicle utilization, efficiency and operator and student safety.
III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION – High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- EXPERIENCE - 1 year of experience with transportation or fleet management
- SKILLS - Possess excellent knowledge of District service area and surrounding area. Proficient with the use of technology equipment as required by the district
IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with routing services contractor to ensure routes are established as efficiently as possible for drivers and the school district.
- Provides assistance in the installation, initial setup, and operation of automated demographic mapping software, including database conversion, geocoding, maintenance of electronic maps, district boundaries, and bus routing.
- Manage active and passive GPS systems.
- Provides training to the users of the automated demographic mapping software and other related software used for bus routing, demographics, and fleet maintenance.
- Route change management:
- Gather routing change requests from designated school and District administrators;
- Utilizing provided software tools and other resources to submit any applicable routing change requests’
- Distribute new route sheets to appropriate end users (transportation department, school administrators, etc.) via provided software tools and other resources.
- Ensure the District is maintaining accurate student rosters
- Provide accurate and timely student date to the routing services system.
- Load and edit map, student, and transportation date within computerized routing system, as needed.
- Work with source data in various formats.
- Recognize and resolve issues associated with data loading, data quality.
- Meet with school officials as needed to keep routes current and accurate.
- Visit schools to solicit and respond to transportation services feedback.
- Notify parents of route changes and other pertinent information.
- Verify drivers’ route times and stop times for accuracy on the actual routes through physical audits and ride-alongs.
- Demonstrate and promote a safe environment at all times for all routes.
