Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Probate Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in contested probate, trust, and guardianship matters. The role combines traditional probate administration support with active litigation case management, including discovery, court filings, and trial preparation. This is a hands-on position requiring strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently. The position is be structured as hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
• Open and manage contested probate, trust, and guardianship matters from inception through resolution.
• Prepare, file, and serve petitions, pleadings, motions, and notices in compliance with the Florida Probate Code and Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Manage e-filing through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal and maintain accurate case calendars and deadlines.
• Draft and organize discovery, including requests for production, interrogatories, and responses; prepare privilege and document logs.
• Assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation, including exhibit and witness binders.
• Prepare inventories, accountings, and other fiduciary documents in estate and trust matters.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties professionally and responsively.
• Conduct factual research, gather and review records, and summarize documents for attorneys.
• Maintain organized physical and electronic case files and case-management records.
Qualifications
• Experience: 3 years of paralegal experience, with substantive work in probate, trust, or estate litigation.
• Knowledge: Working knowledge of the Florida Probate Code, Florida Trust Code, and civil litigation procedure.
• E-filing: Proficiency with the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal and case-management software.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, drafting, and proofreading skills.
• Work style: Strong organization and the ability to manage competing deadlines and a full caseload independently.
Preferred Qualifications
• Paralegal certificate or Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) designation.
• Bilingual English and Spanish.
• Experience with guardianship litigation and fiduciary accountings.
• Familiarity with trial-presentation and document-review technology.
