Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search, a Hispanic Women Owned & Operated National Recruiting Firm together with our client, a well-established New Jersey law firm are seeking a highly motivated Land Use Attorney with a minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience to join its sophisticated, statewide Land Use Practice Group within its broader Redevelopment Law Practice. The successful candidate will represent national, regional, and local developers, property owners, public utilities, and institutional clients on land use and redevelopment matters throughout New Jersey — including obtaining and defending land use approvals, advising on redevelopment projects, conducting land use due diligence, and managing related litigation. Experience with the redevelopment process is a plus.

Requirements

• •      A minimum of 5–7 years of land use and zoning experience, including before municipal land use boards and governmental agencies (site plan, subdivision, variance, rezoning, general development plan applications)
• •      Strong familiarity with NJ's local, county, regional, and state land use regulatory framework
• •      Experience advising on redevelopment matters (area designations, plans, redeveloper/PILOT agreements, economic development incentives)
• •      Familiarity with land use and redevelopment litigation in NJ State Courts
• •      Experience conducting land use/zoning due diligence for transactions and development projects
• •      JD with strong academic record; active NJ law license required
• •      Strong research, writing, advocacy, and negotiation skills; able to manage matters independently

Compensation & Benefits

Anticipated salary range of $210,000 – $230,000, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other firm-sponsored perks.
