Senior Tax Accountant

We are partnering with one of fastest growing companies in Miami to identify a Senior Tax Accountant to join its expanding Finance & Accounting organization.

This is a great opportunity for a tax professional who wants to move beyond traditional compliance and play a hands-on role supporting a rapidly scaling, multi-state business. The position will have a particular focus on indirect tax, including sales & use tax, while also supporting broader state and local tax matters.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax fundamentals, enjoys researching complex taxability questions, and can help build scalable processes as the company continues to expand into new markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support sales & use tax compliance across multiple states and jurisdictions.
• Research state and local tax regulations and determine the appropriate taxability of products, transactions and business activities.
• Review product offerings and transaction structures to identify taxable and tax-exempt items across different jurisdictions.
• Support property tax and other state and local tax matters as needed.
• Assist with tax registrations, filings, notices, audits and correspondence with taxing authorities.
• Monitor changes in state and local tax regulations and assess their potential impact on the business.
• Perform reconciliations and help ensure accurate tax reporting across a high-volume, multi-location environment.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations and other teams to resolve tax-related questions and improve compliance.
• Help develop and document tax policies, procedures and internal controls as the organization scales.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate tax processes and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field.
• 3 years of relevant tax experience.
• Experience with sales & use tax / indirect tax strongly preferred.
• Multi-state tax experience highly desirable.
• Experience with property tax or broader SALT matters is a plus.
• High-volume, multi-location industry experience is a plus.
• Public Accounting experience, particularly within a SALT or Indirect Tax practice, is highly valued.
• Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret state and local tax guidance.
• Detail-oriented, proactive and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing organization.
