Overview
A well-established U.S.-based financial institution is seeking a Senior Consumer Compliance Officer to lead and oversee its Consumer Compliance and CRA programs. This individual will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all applicable federal and state consumer protection regulations while serving as a key advisor to senior leadership and business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the Bank’s Consumer Compliance Program, ensuring full alignment with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Lead and administer the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) program, including ongoing monitoring, reporting, and performance management
- Develop and execute the Compliance Monitoring Program and annual monitoring schedule, reporting findings to senior management and Board-level committees
- Monitor regulatory changes from agencies such as OCC and CFPB and assess impact to the organization
- Provide regulatory guidance to business units on consumer compliance matters, including new and existing products and services
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior leadership and Board committees, including status updates, findings, and corrective actions
- Conduct and oversee compliance risk assessments, including inherent and residual risk evaluations
- Manage and track corrective actions through a Compliance Action Plan framework
- Oversee the resolution and tracking of consumer complaints, identifying trends and mitigating risks
- Review marketing and advertising materials to ensure compliance with consumer protection regulations
- Lead compliance training programs across the organization, including onboarding and annual training for employees and Board members
- Support regulatory exams, audits, and internal reviews, ensuring strong outcomes and remediation where needed
- Supervise and mentor compliance staff, supporting ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications (CRC, CAMS, etc.) preferred
- 7 years of experience in consumer compliance within a banking environment
- Strong knowledge of CRA, CFPB, OCC regulations, and consumer protection laws (TILA, RESPA, TRID, UDAAP, etc.)
- Experience managing compliance monitoring programs, risk assessments, and regulatory exams
- Proven ability to interact with senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Hands-on experience with CRA performance and examinations
- Prior leadership or team management experience
- Fluency in Spanish required
Salary : $150,000 - $170,000
