Director of Property Management
Position: Lead Property Manager
Location: New York City / Tri-State Area
Compensation: Up to $230,000

Overview
Midtownmulti-generational family office with a diverse and expanding real estate portfolio with an emphasis New York, Connecticut, Long Island with holdings across the US. We are seeking a Lead Property Manager to oversee all property management operations. This individual will play a critical leadership role in shaping management systems, ensuring operational excellence, and coordinating across departments including leasing, maintenance, compliance, and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Oversight:
- Supervise and guide the Regional Property Manager and on-site teams across a growing portfolio of residential and commercial assets.
- Serve as the key point of accountability for building operations, code compliance, maintenance, and resident satisfaction.
- Operational Strategy:
- Standardize management processes and implement best practices across all properties.
- Develop and monitor performance metrics (KPIs) for property and maintenance staff.
- Collaborate with ownership to identify operational inefficiencies and propose solutions.
- Interdepartmental Coordination:
- Work closely with accounting, legal, leasing, and construction teams to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
- Act as a bridge between field operations and corporate departments, ensuring alignment of goals and accountability.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Oversee building compliance related to DOB, FDNY, HPD, DEP, elevator, and energy regulations.
- Implement proactive maintenance and inspection schedules to minimize risk exposure.
- Financial Oversight:
- Review budgets, operating expenses, and capital improvement plans.
- Partner with finance and accounting teams to improve reporting accuracy and cost efficiency.
- Leadership Development:
- Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of the Regional Property Manager and other key team members.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, responsiveness, and pride in property presentation.
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive property management experience, ideally with multifamily and mixed-use assets in the NYC metro area.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, compliance requirements, and landlord-tenant regulations.
- Proven ability to manage teams and create scalable systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Experience working in a family office or entrepreneurial environment is a plus.
