Responsibilities
- Address escalated tickets for complex operational issues in client networks.
- Maintain clients’ existing networks to ensure stability and compliance, and to address any issues and failures that arise during normal operation.
- Communicate with clientsregardingstatusof open tasksand projectsdaily.
- Driveprojects for data network design, development, and implementation, working in conjunction with professional services teams.
- Follow established processes for all work, adhering toAscend’squality standards.
- Identifyand drive opportunities for process improvement.
- Development of documentation for client networks, including network diagrams.
- Workwith vendorsforsupport case resolution.
- Assistin mentorship/training ofotherengineers.
- Participate in an on-call rotationto provide off-hourssupport.
- Ability to communicate complex technical problems clearly to customers, withappropriate understandingof business impact and empathy for the client’s situation.
- A strong senseof urgency (required).
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related degree program.
- Minimum5yearsadvancedNetwork Engineering experience (preferably at an MSP).
- Advanced knowledge ofcloud networking concepts in Azure and AWS.
- Extensive knowledgeof VoIPtechnologiespreferred.
- Advanced knowledge ofnetwork technologies from Fortinet, Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, and Ubiquiti.
- Extensive knowledge of network security concepts,toolsand strategies.
- Expertknowledgeof network protocols(e.g.TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), services, and monitoring tools(LogicMonitorexperience preferred).
- CiscoCCNAand/orCCNP, or Fortinet FCPcertificationor equivalent working experienceisrequired.
- Abilityto learnaboutnew technologiesrapidly and continually.
