About the Role
Ascend Staffing is seeking a Systems Administrator to support and enhance our enterprise IT environment. This role is ideal for a technically strong, self-motivated IT professional who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and improving system reliability and security.
As a Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in maintaining, securing, and optimizing servers, cloud services, endpoints, and core infrastructure across the organization. You’ll work closely with IT leadership while providing escalated support and guidance to internal teams.

Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 DOE Monthly Bonus
Experience Level: 2 years (preferred)
Travel: Minimal (in-state and occasional out-of-state)
What You’ll Do
As a Systems Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
- Administer and support Windows Server and Active Directory (users, groups, GPOs, permissions, troubleshooting)
- Manage and support Microsoft Azure environments, including identity and access management
- Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Entra ID, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Monitor and maintain endpoint patching, updates, uptime, and system health
- Manage and support the company’s virtualization platform
- Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot zero-touch networking equipment
- Support and maintain endpoint security and protection tools
- Administer storage systems, monitoring capacity, performance, and availability
- Manage and monitor backup systems, including testing and basic recovery procedures
- Handle escalated IT tickets and provide technical guidance to support staff
- Support and manage telecommunications systems and related infrastructure
- Contribute to system documentation, standards, and process improvements
What We’re Looking For
Required / Preferred Experience
- 2 years of experience as a Systems Administrator, IT Administrator, or similar role
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a structured, analytical approach
- Experience supporting Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure, and enterprise IT environments
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with IT leadership
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
Education & Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Equivalent hands-on experience will be considered in place of formal education
Certifications (Nice to Have)
- CompTIA Network or Security
- Microsoft certifications related to:
- Windows Server
- Microsoft 365
- Azure / Identity & Access Management
- Other relevant systems administration or cybersecurity certifications
