Position Overview
The Regional Sales Director is a key leadership role responsible for driving Gross Profit growth, building high-performing sales teams, and ensuring consistent execution of the company’s sales strategy across multiple markets. This position is an equal blend of administrative leadership, field engagement, and performance accountability.
The Regional Sales Director will work closely with Sales Managers and Regional Managers to lead through coaching, develop talent, and ensure accountability to performance expectations and KPIs. This individual will also travel to field offices and client sites to support sales initiatives, strengthen client relationships, and ensure operational alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership, Coaching, and Talent Management
- Lead, coach, and develop Sales Managers to achieve Gross Profit and revenue targets across all markets.
- Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings to review performance, pipeline health, and skill development.
- Partner with Regional Managers to recruit, hire, and onboard high-performing Sales Managers and Sales Representatives.
- Address and manage underperformance through clear coaching plans, documented accountability measures, and, when necessary, timely separation decisions.
- Foster a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Field Engagement & Client Development
- Maintain regular in-person engagement across assigned regions through branch visits, ride-alongs, and client meetings.
- Attend and participate in key sales presentations and top-client meetings to support revenue retention and expansion.
- Partner with Regional Managers to identify and develop strategic accounts and new market opportunities.
- Act as a visible leader in the field, modeling best practices in relationship-building, sales execution, and customer service.
Performance Management & KPI Accountability
- Track and analyze team KPIs related to prospecting, client meetings, proposals, and closed accounts.
- Hold Sales Managers accountable for maintaining high-quality, accurate pipelines and achieving activity expectations.
- Lead weekly performance reviews using data-driven insights to identify trends, address challenges, and celebrate wins.
- Collaborate with the executive team to ensure alignment between regional strategies and company-wide sales objectives.
Administrative Excellence & Reporting
- Ensure all CRM data, reports, and sales dashboards are accurate, current, and effectively utilized to drive decision-making.
- Prepare and present regional performance reports for executive leadership, focusing on Gross Profit growth, KPI trends, and pipeline forecasting.
- Support process improvement initiatives and maintain documentation of sales best practices, training materials, and reporting standards.
Sales Growth & Pipeline Development
- Oversee and evaluate Sales Managers’ pipelines to ensure consistent lead generation, conversion, and forecasting accuracy.
- Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to ensure steady lead flow and effective prospect targeting.
- Identify high-potential markets and guide Sales Managers in developing strategies to expand client portfolios and increase share of wallet.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in sales leadership, business development, or multi-unit sales management.
- Proven success in driving Gross Profit growth, developing teams, and enforcing performance accountability.
- Strong ability to interpret and act on KPI and pipeline data to achieve measurable outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in staffing, recruiting, or workforce solutions.
- Demonstrated success in multi-location leadership with a focus on both sales and operations.
- Familiarity with lead generation tools such as Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or Textkernel.
