CENSUS IS GROWING - JOIN OUR TEAMSUPPORTIVE LIVING UNIT Employment Status: Full-time Monday-Friday w/ Occasional WeekendsSalary: B.O.E. BENEFITS: Medical, Dental, Vision, Critical Illness, Disability, Hospital, ID Protect, Life, Retirement, Holiday Pay, Vacation/Sick PTO, Employee Recognition, Employee Referral Bonus, and so much more. The primary purpose of the Supportive Living Assistant Director of Nursing position is, under the leadership of the Director of Nursing, to assume management and leadership of the Nursing Department in accordance with the facility mission philosophy and as directed by the Facility Administrator. The Assistant Director of Nursing performs selected acts for the promotion of health and in the care of persons who are ill, injured or experiencing alterations in the normal health process. The Assistant Director of Nursing may act on behalf of the Director of Nursing, as delegated by the Director of Nursing, for defined periods of time. As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the development end evaluation of care delivery systems.Part in the establishment of clinical goals and mechanisms to address the departmental and nursing unit needs and deficiencies.Participate in the development of management goals for the Nursing Department based on assessed departmental needs and deficiencies.Participate in the establishment of and support of implementation of guidelines specific to the Nursing Department.Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other nursing leadership in the development of and presentation of proposals concerning issues in the delivery of care,which affects the Nursing Department and other departments.Participate in the development and implementation of new programs.Participate in the development of standards of care and care-specific issues, including restraints and restrain alternatives, incontinence management, wound care and restorative nursing.Work with the Director of Nursing to screen products and provide evaluation of them prior to purchase.Develop mechanisms to assure that pharmaceuticals and care supplies are available and current. Monitor medication administration for appropriate and institute corrective measures, as indicated.Interpret staffing/budgetary guidelines and stay within budgetary parameters. Evaluate resident care needs and assure that staffing requirements are met.Participate in the yearly review of the facility, specialty units and programs, making recommendations for changes of standards of care and goal setting, as appropriate.Conduct utilization review for the Placement meeting and attend weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.Monitor general and care-specific standards and recommend corrections for problems identified.Work with admissions to assure a smooth admission process. Recommend and implement problem resolution in the admission process.Develop and implement guidelines regarding physical and chemical restraints and facilitate restrain reduction and restraint alternatives, as appropriate.Supervise personnel and related personnel functions to improve service levels with respect to:HiringTrainingDisciplinePerformance evaluationGrievance resolutionStaffing levelsAccountability for performanceOther related personnel functions Communicate the facility philosophy, mission statement, goals of the facility and nursing department to the management group. Gives appropriate feedback.Maintain current information regarding delivery of long-term care and other pertinent services.Act as a liaison with the medical staff regarding resident care issues.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsMust possess a nursing degree from an accredited school of professional nursing or practical nursing, depending on state regulations governing the facility.Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse according to the state Regulations governing the facility.One year experience supervising healthcare professionals.Knowledge of nursing theory and practiceAbility to follow oral and written directions, and to prepare and maintain records, charts and reports.Ability to apply nursing techniques as directed by physicians.Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.Ability to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.Ability not to pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.Ability to meet the general health requirements set forth by the guidelines of the facility, which include a medical and physical examination.Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of three feet and be able to push. Salary : $76,300 - $101,300
