Asante's PGY1 Residency Program provides broad experiences including pharmacokinetics, antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation, cardiology, oncology, internal medicine, critical care, pediatrics/NICU, infusion services, diabetes education, nutrition support, practice management, medication safety, informatics, and rural hospital. Residents have the opportunity to teach at the university level while earning a teaching certificate. All Residents act as preceptors for pharmacy students, participate in P&T committee, write for the pharmacy bulletin, present continuing education to pharmacy professionals, and participate in community service. Residents complete a major project, present a poster at Midyear, and present at the Northwestern States Conference.

Qualifications
Education
- Residency applicants must possess or be receiving a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm D) and be licensed as a Pharmacist Intern in the state of Oregon before the start of the program.
- Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required for Pharmacy Residents.
