The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on process equipment, utilities, and facilities within a chemical manufacturing plant. Essential Job Functions
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on process equipment including pumps, mixers, valves, agitators, compressors, and mechanical seals.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues to support reliable plant performance.
- Assist in installation, alignment, commissioning, and verification activities for new and existing equipment.
- Support production teams with equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and minor process adjustments.
- Ensure all maintenance activities follow EHS, OSHA, LOTO, chemical handling procedures, and site permit requirements.
- Participate in RCFA and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or Mechanical Technology preferred.
- 3–5 years of maintenance or operations experience in a chemical, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with fundamental knowledge of electrical systems, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and schematics.
- Familiarity with pumps, motors, valves, fluid handling systems, and mechanical seals; experience with pneumatic/hydraulic systems is a plus.
- Experience using CMMS systems (e.g., SAP) preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, lift up to 50 lbs, and wear required PPE.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; willingness to work flexible shifts or respond to emergencies.
