Department: Quality Systems & Support - 252
Primary Purpose:
Facilitates process improvement projects/initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy, timeliness, and other performance metrics by utilizing various process improvement tools/methodologies. Collaborates closely with various stakeholders including leadership to ensure successful execution of improvement projects.
Candidates with appropriate experience may qualify for a level II or III position.

Essential Functions:
Analyzes existing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
Designs, recommends, and implements new workflows to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
Analyzes, designs, recommends, and implements changes to existing workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define, track, and improve KPIs.
Applies improvement tools and methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, etc.) to solve complex problems and achieve process goals.
Conducts basic-level data analyses to identify trends, variation, waste, and opportunities for improvement.
Leads and supports improvement projects, ensuring successful implementation.
Maintains open and effective communication with all stakeholders.
Presents analysis and recommendations to senior management and/or other groups as requested.
Collaborates with Improvement Engineers to design small bench tools.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical and Other Requirements:
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance
Experience
Required- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, health sciences, or related field Or Associate’s degree in related field and four years clinical lab experience Or High school diploma and six years clinical lab experience
- Training in one or more of the major improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
- Two years of experience in process improvement and/or workflow analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or equivalent
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting or equivalent
- Excellent organization, time management, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong listening, negotiating, problem-solving, and project management skills
Education
Required- High School Diploma or Equivalent or better
- Bachelor's Degree or better in Operations Management or related field
- Associates Degree or better in Operations Management or related field
Licenses & Certifications
Preferred- Applicable Six Sigma Cert
