Brief Description
- Create exceptional customer experiences through service and support in all customer-facing settings
- Maintain knowledge of all current merchandise and answer customer questions regarding size, styles, location, availability
- Maintain knowledge of current merch promotions to ensure accurate signage and displays of feature items, and answer promo-related questions
- Assist receiving merchandise by counting, tagging with price, stamping, labeling cartons with inventory counts, and distributing by location
- Perform cashier role at festivals and events, including packaging merchandise for customers and understanding/communicating general event information to patrons
- Restock and maintain tidy appearance of merchandise tents during festivals and events, ensure festival merch signage is properly posted and product fixtures are clean and organized
- Assist in setup and teardown of festival and event merch spaces
- Communicate low backstock levels and customer special requests to Retail Manager
- Assist in counting and storing inventory post festivals
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- 1 year previous retail or customer service experience
- Experience with Retail Point of Sale systems is a plus
- Ability to multi-task with high attention to detail
- Ability to see, speak, hear, sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend and lift maximum of up to 25 pounds frequently; Ability to lift, push, or pull 50-100 pounds occasionally
- A passion for the arts; sense of humor, sense of fun
- Ability to meet and interact with the public, with both adults and children
- Ability to follow and communicate directions effectively, in person, orally and in writing, via e-mail and on the telephone
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, other staff members as well as vendors, sponsors, members and volunteers
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, holidays and weekends when necessary; Ability to work extended and irregular hours
- Ability to work with minimal daily supervision
- Ability to work amidst large crowds in occasionally loud environments
- Ability to concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions
- Must be physically able to walk measurable distances for extended periods of time during events and festivals
- A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and reliable transportation to move from building to building as needed
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English; bi-lingual ability in Spanish or other language is a plus
- Ability to work part-time, three to five days per week, occasional nights and weekends during festivals and events; some events require the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in the heat and in the cold
- The ability and desire to work in a team environment
- A passion for the arts, music and cultural programs
- Experience working in a non-profit environment
