Position Summary

As Regional Director of Operations, you will lead the operational performance, culture, and growth of five offices in our region. You will be a strategic partner to the support center leadership and the individual office leaders, driving efficiency, profitability, team engagement, patient experience, and growth. You will spend time on-site, in field support, and with the executive team.

Key Responsibilities

·        Oversee operations for a portfolio of five dental offices: ensure targets on revenue, production, collections, profitability (EBITDA) and controllable expenses are met.

·        Serve as the operational liaison between the support center (marketing, finance, clinical services) and each practice, ensuring strong communication and alignment.

·        Visit each location regularly to support office managers, clinicians and teams, evaluate processes, coach leadership, and drive solutions.

·        Implement and refine operational best practices: patient flow, scheduling productivity, chair time utilization, treatment acceptance, recall/completion, expense/labor management, vendor relationships, technology/asset utilization.

·        Lead onboarding and integration of new hires (managers, teams) in the region.

·        Use performance dashboards, financial reports and KPIs to identify opportunities, create action plans, drive change and measure results.

·        Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, high engagement and patient-centric service.

·        Partner with marketing, clinical services, and finance to support regional growth initiatives (new services, referral development, community outreach).

·        Ensure compliance with regulatory, OSHA, HIPAA, dental licensure, and internal policy standards across all locations.

·        Serve as a mentor and coach to the office leadership teams, helping develop their capabilities and succession path.

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare management or related field (MBA preferred).

·        Minimum of 5 years of multi-site operations leadership (preferably in dental, healthcare, or closely related field).

·        P&L responsibility, budget management, labor/expense control and demonstrable results in improving performance.

·        Strong business acumen, analytical mindset, comfort with reading and interpreting profit & loss statements, KPI dashboards and designing action plans.

·        Excellent leadership skills: able to build strong relationships, influence without direct control, coach managers, inspire teams.

·        Exceptional communication (oral, written), presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills.

·        Ability and willingness to travel regularly within the region (onsite visits).

·        Passion for culture, quality service, and making a positive difference in patients’ lives through operational excellence.

·        Experience with dental practice management systems, scheduling/workflow optimization, recall/completion systems is a plus.
