What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founding Account Executive position at artie?
About Artie
Artie is commercial infrastructure for independent creators, helping them develop, package, and finance premium scripted content for YouTube. We partner with leading management and production companies and festivals to source projects from top creators all making TV-like scripted short and long form content. Unlike traditional pre-roll ads, we enable advertisers to secure high-impact product placement and brand integrations directly within the content itself. This approach delivers unique advantages: advertisers gain premium reach with deep contextual association, secure valuable usage rights for social engagement, and execute efficiently—buying slates of shows via a single contract with full reporting directly in DV360. It’s a faster, more cost-effective alternative to traditional product placement, allowing brands to integrate seamlessly into the stories creators tell. We’re a small team of ex-Googlers looking to create a more scalable means to give creators financing and help them own their IP.
The Role
Artie is launching our Alpha with brands starting July 1st. Your role is to pitch Artie to owners of premium video budgets and bring them into our alpha. In practice that's two tracks: the Video Investment and Digital Video teams at agencies — the ones holding test and experimental budgets — and brand marketers you can pitch directly. These are buyers with premium reach objectives, and your job is to show them why scripted integration inventory belongs in that mix.
This is a hunter role. The successful candidate enjoys the challenge of pitching a new product, unlocking opportunities and driving closed deals. You'll figure out where the budgets sit, build the pipeline yourself, run the outreach, pitch the product, and close the enrollment — from cold lead to signed IO. You won’t just be selling a platform; you are helping define our sales motion and GTM strategy from the ground up and help us collect key feedback from advertisers on what we need to establish product-market fit.
The goal of this contract is to drive a balanced mix of agency and brand-direct participation in the Alpha, generate meaningful market validation through signed commitments, and most importantly convert those commitments into funded campaigns. While filling Alpha seats and gathering market feedback are critical, the primary objective is executed deals and revenue generation.
What You'll Do
- Source and build your own pipeline of agency Video Investment / Digital Video teams and brand-direct buyers
- Run high-volume outbound through LinkedIn Sales Navigator and your own network
- Pitch Artie's alpha and the value of scripted integration inventory
- Move buyers from intro → LOI → signed, non-cancellable IO
- Own your number and your pipeline end to end
Compensation
- Retainer: $3,000/month for the 3-month term
- Quota bonus: $2,500 for hitting quota — 5 advertisers AND $1M in signed LOIs. An additional $2,500 for reaching 10 advertisers AND $2M in signed LOIs.
- Commission: 15% of Artie's net take on non-cancellable IOs executed during the contract; 10% on IOs executed within 90 days of the contract end date — paid when Artie gets paid.
Required Qualifications
- Experience selling into agency Video Investment, Digital Video, Contextual Video, Streaming Video, or brand-direct media teams. Existing relationships are a plus but not required.
- A self-starter's instinct for lead generation: you know where premium video budgets sit, and you can build a pipeline from scratch and fill it fast, including high-volume outreach through LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Comfort running early-stage Alpha / Beta programs — you're fine being early and selling something still taking shape
Preferred Qualifications
- A founding-seller or 0-to-1 background: you've sold a product before its category was proven, and you've closed without a playbook handed to you
- A read on how agencies unlock test, experimental, and innovation budgets — and who actually controls them
- Fluency in entertainment, branded content, or premium video storytelling
- Deep familiarity with DV360 buying workflows.
Logistics
- Part-time, 3-month contract, starting ASAP
- New York City preferred — in office 2–3 days a week; Remote OK
- Reports directly to the CEO
