Position Summary
As the Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing the mechanical, electrical, and automated systems that power a commercial greenhouse operation. You’ll oversee equipment like HVAC units, pumps, motors, irrigation systems, conveyor machinery, and environmental controls. This role ensures the facility runs safely and efficiently to support continuous crop production.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical systems, including pumps, fans, motors, and control panels.
- Maintain and calibrate climate control systems, such as HVAC and fertigation units.
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on greenhouse infrastructure.
- Support installation and upgrades of new greenhouse equipment and automation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and service logs.
- Work alongside operations and grow teams to ensure equipment supports crop performance.
- Follow safety and compliance standards when working with tools, equipment, and chemicals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in mechanics, HVAC, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
- 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, agricultural, or greenhouse environment.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems including motors, wiring, sensors, and controls.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Skilled in the use of power tools, diagnostic instruments, and welding equipment.
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work in hot, humid environments and at heights.
Work Environment
- Primarily greenhouse and maintenance areas.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, machinery noise, and chemicals.
- Schedule includes 8-hour shifts, with possible weekend work as needed.
