What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Finance Manager position at Artemis?
We are a rapidly growing, high-tech manufacturing venture and are looking for a Manufacturing Finance Manager who brings a blend of experience in finance, manufacturing operations, and inventory. This individual will operate in a high-visibility role, working cross-functionally to ensure the operational and financial success of our contracts. We are a high-unit, high-volume operation and need someone that can effectively keep teams aware of what is happening, what needs to happen, and what is forecasted to happen. This role requires an exceptionally high attention to detail and strong understanding of high-volume inventory supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Financial Integrity:
- Own end-to-end inventory and WIP accuracy (quantity and valuation) across internal manufacturing sites, contract manufacturers, and warehouses
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation, including reserves for obsolescence and excess
- Reconcile inventory balances and investigate discrepancies with clear root-cause analysis and corrective actions
ERP, Master Data & Process Governance:
- Own ERP master data integrity related to inventory and manufacturing (BOMs, routings, cost structures, work centers)
- Establish scalable inventory tracking and reporting processes for new markets, manufacturing sites and contract manufacturing
- Define and enforce transaction discipline across the supply chain (receipts, movements, production reporting)
Operational Finance & Performance Analysis:
- Analyze stock levels, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency across sites
- Identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies; provide data-driven recommendations
- Monitor and report on key manufacturing KPIs (inventory turns, WIP aging, yield, scrap, utilization)
Demand Planning & Capacity Alignment:
- Support demand planning by consolidating contracted demand and weighted sales forecasts
- Assess demand against production capacity and supply constraints
- Provide financial insight to support production planning and prioritization decisions
New Product Introduction (NPI) & Scaling:
- Assess financial and operational impacts of ramping new product manufacturing
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure readiness of cost structures, inventory tracking, and reporting
Inventory Operations:
- Support Accounting teams with cycle count programs and physical inventory processes across global sites
- Ensure alignment between physical and system inventory
Working Capital Management:
- Own inventory-related working capital metrics and improvement initiatives
- Drive reduction in excess and obsolete inventory
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in operations finance, manufacturing finance, supply chain finance, program finance, or similar role
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing or hardware-based businesses
- Strong understanding of unit-based operational environments (production, shipments, inventory, deliverables)
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, operations, supply chain, and accounting teams
- Ability to translate contracts or production plans into operational and financial insights
- Experience tracking inventory across multiple locations, contract manufacturers, or logistics partners preferred
- Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and CRM tools (Salesforce or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to operational detail
- Advanced Excel or data analysis skills preferred
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment
Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
