What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Equity Research Lead position at Artemis?
About Artemis
Digital finance is the merging of traditional and crypto-enabled finance, with companies like Stripe, JPM, and Robinhood moving onchain. Legacy platforms like Bloomberg and FactSet were not built for this convergence.
Artemis is creating the next-generation research and investing platform for digital finance, organizing data and analytics for fintech, tokens, stablecoins, and relevant public equities. We offer a "Bloomberg-like" Terminal, Excel plugins, APIs, and Snowflake Data Shares trusted by industry leaders (Visa, Circle, Grayscale, etc.) and the world's most elite asset managers. Our mission is to realize crypto's open financial system and empower investors in digital finance.
Who We Are
"Humans wanted for hazardous journey. Small wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger. Safe return doubtful. Honor and recognition in case of success" — Ernest Shackleton, Antarctic Explorer
At Artemis we are doing really challenging things, very much inspired by Ernest Shackleton's mindset. Hard things are not for everyone, only the select few who have superhuman levels of mental fortitude, optimism, compassion, and courage.
If this is who you are — join us.
We are a team of crypto-natives and TradFi ex-analysts coming from Meta, Coinbase, BlackRock, Messari, Ribbit Capital, EY Blockchain, and Insight Partners. We raised capital from the best venture capitalists in the world.
Job Overview
Artemis is looking for a Senior Research Analyst to lead our research function and set the standard for how we cover the convergence of crypto and traditional fintech. You will own a coverage universe, produce institutional-grade equity and token research, and manage the research workflow end-to-end — from analyst coordination to publication. This is a senior individual contributor role with team leadership responsibilities, and a clear path to building out the research function as Artemis scales.
What you'll do:
Research & Coverage
- Lead coverage initiation on a defined set of crypto equities and revenue-generating tokens across Neobanks, Payments, Lending, Trading, and Prediction Markets
- Write actionable, sell-side quality research with clear thesis points, price targets, and bear/base/bull scenarios
- Build and maintain financial models (DCF, comps, earnings multiples) for each name in your coverage set
- Stay ahead of earnings, filings, protocol updates, and market-moving developments; publish timely notes and updates
- Develop high-conviction investment theses backed by rigorous fundamental analysis and original data from the Artemis platform
Research Management & Operations
- Manage the research publication pipeline — own the editorial calendar, set deadlines, and ensure consistent output quality
- Coordinate with junior analysts and contributors: assign coverage tasks, review models and drafts, provide structured feedback
- Define and enforce research standards, templates, and methodology across the team
- Work cross-functionally with product and BD to shape how research is packaged, distributed, and monetized
- Contribute to Artemis' long-term research roadmap and help define what institutional-grade coverage looks like at the intersection of equities and crypto
Who You Are
- 3 years of experience in equity research or asset management — you've covered names professionally and published research that moved the room
- You've managed or mentored analysts, reviewed models, and held a team to a quality bar
- Elite financial modeling skills — DCFs, comps, and scenario analyses are second nature; you can build from scratch and spot errors in someone else's work fast
- Deep knowledge of fintech and crypto — you follow the space obsessively, have conviction on names, and understand why equities and tokens are converging
- Sharp, persuasive writer — your research reads like something a PM would forward to a CIO
- Operationally sharp: you can run a publication calendar, manage deadlines, and keep a team on track without losing your own analytical edge
- Self-directed and high-agency — you don't wait for direction, you set it
- Based in the broader New York City area
- Bonus: You've covered payments, digital assets, or stablecoins at a sell-side firm or multi-manager
- Bonus: Your published research has been cited, distributed, or acted on by institutional investors
