Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a high-performing Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing finance team in a fast-paced, high-volume startup environment. This role is well suited for someone who can quickly ramp up, navigate changing priorities, and consistently deliver accurate work in a deadline-driven setting.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices with accuracy and timeliness
• Perform invoice verification, including matching purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation
• Support weekly payment processing through ACH, checks, and wire transfers
• Audit employee expense submissions and verify compliance with company policies
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, discrepancies, and account inquiries
• Maintain organized AP files and supporting records for audit and reporting purposes
• Assist with resolving invoice discrepancies and outstanding payment issues
• Follow internal accounting procedures and maintain compliance with company controls and policies
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely approvals and accurate processing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
• 1–3 years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience preferred
• Understanding of basic accounting practices and AP processes
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
