Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Medical Assistant/Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at Artemis Center for Menstrual Disorders.
Medical Assistant Role:
Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Room patients and accurately obtain vital signs
- Support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
- Assist providers and clinical staff with various tasks as needed
- Perform urine analysis and pregnancy testing
- Prepare and label specimens, complete lab requisitions, and send to appropriate labs
- Update and maintain patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
Exam Room Preparation & Maintenance
- Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients
- Set up rooms and equipment for procedures
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked and organized
- Sterilize and process medical equipment, including using an autoclave
Front Desk Receptionist Role:
Position Summary:
The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. They are responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medical Receptionist Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer incoming phone calls; schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
- Check patients in and out, verify insurance information, and collect co-pays
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EHR system
- Respond to patient inquiries and relay messages to clinical staff and providers
- Manage front desk operations, including handling mail, faxes, and emails
- Prepare and organize necessary forms and documents for patient visits
- Ensure waiting area and reception space are clean, stocked, and welcoming
- Follow HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is a plus
- Experience with medical scheduling software (Athenahealth) is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
