Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations for adolescents to identify needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-specific interventions, and play therapy.
- Implement behavioral management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure safety and promote positive behavioral change.
- Collect and document clinical data accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations, clinical ethical guidelines, and medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, treatment planning, and progress monitoring for clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Engage families through child & family counseling, providing education and support to foster a nurturing environment conducive to recovery.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to enhance client engagement and facilitate behavior change.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as required by state law (e.g., LCSW, LPC).
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and families in mental health or behavioral care settings.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices including behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), art therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
- Familiarity with trauma-specific interventions, PTSD care, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, and special education is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to collect data systematically for ongoing assessment and treatment adjustment; proficient in medical terminology and clinical documentation standards.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration; sensitivity to cultural diversity counseling needs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations effectively while adhering to clinical ethical guidelines and HIPAA privacy standards.
