What are the responsibilities and job description for the Van Driver (After School Program) position at Art Tatum Zone?
We are seeking responsible, dependable, and safety-conscious Van Drivers to provide transportation for children and/or youth participating in our programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, reliability, and positive interactions with young people and families.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport children and youth to and from designated locations and program activities
- Follow assigned routes and transportation schedules
- Ensure passengers enter, ride in, and exit the vehicle safely
- Maintain appropriate supervision and professional conduct while transporting participants
- Complete required vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle
- Follow all traffic laws, organizational transportation policies, and safety procedures
- Communicate professionally with program staff, participants, and families
- Complete transportation documentation as required
- Participate in required meetings and training
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required
- Prior experience transporting children, youth, or groups preferred
- Ability to drive safely and reliably in a variety of traffic and weather conditions
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and comfortable working with children and youth
- Must meet all applicable driver eligibility and insurance requirements
- Must be able to pass all required background checks
- Must be willing and able to complete all training required for the position

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
