What are the responsibilities and job description for the Before & After-School Program Staff position at Art Tatum Zone?
We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and youth-focused individuals to join our After School Program team. After School Program Staff help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where school-age youth can learn, build relationships, participate in enrichment activities, and develop important academic and life skills.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and actively engage students during after-school programming
- Lead or assist with academic support, enrichment activities, recreation, and group projects
- Build positive and supportive relationships with youth
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive program environment
- Assist with attendance, transitions, snacks/meals, and daily program routines
- Model positive behavior, communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, students, and families
- Follow organizational policies, safety procedures, and program requirements
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and required training
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or youth preferred
- Education or coursework in education, youth development, social work, recreation, or a related field is a plus
- Ability to be patient, dependable, flexible, and actively engaged with youth
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must be able to pass all required background checks
- Must be willing and able to complete all training required for the position
