The Strategic Communications Analyst will have demonstrated experience independently supporting senior executive level management in carrying out duties and providing authoritative advice to executive level management, staff and/or leadership on projects in support of the mission.
Location & Travel:
This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC or in Germantown, MD with minimal travel expected

A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the primary public affairs liaison to programs and attend weekly meetings to integrate public affairs and strategic planning
- Provide public affairs advice and recommendations to the Public Affairs Director, Deputy Director, and other External Affairs on program activities, milestones, and issues
- Develop communication plans on program activities, milestones, and issues
- Develop themes, messages, and talking points on programs
- Develop timely, high-quality written products promoting NNSA strategic objectives, policies, and programs
- Review and edit public affairs products
- Assist government in pitching stories to reporters and facilitate media interviews and press conferences
- Assist in maintaining databases of media relations activities
- Track, prepare, and distribute news clips and other public affairs content
- Schedule, post, and monitor activity on NNSA’s social media platforms
- Assist in maintenance of long term social media engagement calendar with reoccurring events, historical anniversaries, etc. to promote NNSA
- Take photos and video of program activities and official NNSA ceremonies
- All other duties as assigned
Current DOE Q or DOD Top Secret Security Clearance
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE “Q” or DoD Top Secret clearance
- Must have 3-5 years of experience working in a public affairs or related position
- Possess congressional experience, experience managing communications, experience managing various databases and various action plans
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University or college
