About the Role:


The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components to meet project requirements and industry standards. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including civil/structural, electrical, quality assurance, and project management to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into final products. The engineer will be responsible for conducting detailed analyses and calculations to validate design concepts. Additionally, the position requires mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance to foster innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team. Ultimately, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will drive the successful delivery of complex mechanical engineering projects that align with organizational goals and customer expectations.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.

  • 10 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering design and development.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.

  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Plant3D or CADWorx. 

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including thermodynamics, mechanics of materials, and fluid mechanics.

  • Experience with engineering analysis tools such as CAESAR II and AFT Fathom.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Familiarity with pipeline, piping systems, and terminal operations.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to mechanical design, particularly in the Oil and Gas Industry.

  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.


Responsibilities:



  • Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems from initial requirements through to production.

  • Perform detailed engineering analyses including stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics simulations to validate design integrity and performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure designs meet constructability, cost, and quality standards.

  • Develop and review technical documentation such as specifications, drawings, and models to support design development and compliance.

  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.

  • Manage project timelines and resources effectively to meet milestones and deliverables.

  • Identify opportunities for design improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance work-product quality and efficiency.

The required skills enable the Senior Mechanical Engineer to create detailed and accurate mechanical designs that meet stringent performance and safety criteria. Proficiency in CAD and simulation software is essential for developing and validating complex models. Strong analytical skills are applied daily to troubleshoot design challenges and optimize system functionality. Communication and leadership skills are critical for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior staff, ensuring project alignment and knowledge transfer. Preferred skills such as advanced degrees, certifications, and industry-specific experience further enhance the engineer’s ability to innovate and manage projects effectively in a dynamic engineering environment.

Salary : $95,000 - $120,000
