Position Details
We are accepting applications for an experienced Veterinary Assistant, RVT, CVT, or LVT to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time position working four days per week, including Saturdays and rotating Sundays. Your main duties will involve assisting the veterinary team during exams and treatments, caring for boarding pets, and supporting day-to-day clinic operations.
Schedule
- 4 days per week
- Typical Schedule: 7:15 AM – 5:30 PM (or until the last client leaves and all duties are completed) with upto a 1 hiur lunch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and fellow assistants during exams and procedures
- Manage appointments and workflows for designated appointments, ensuring smooth clinic operations
- Become the expert on flea, tick, and intestinal parasites, providing client education and product recommendations
- Maintain cleanliness of the clinic
- Monitor and record patient behavior and health
- Prepare animals for treatment and surgery
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Veterinary drug dose calculations
- Help with client communication and education as needed
Qualifications:
- Pay is based on Experience
- Veterinary Experience REQUIRED (2 years preferred)
- Proficient in Restrain techniques, blood draws, catheterization.
- Cornerstone experience preferred.
- Idexx in-house lab equipment experience preferred
- Compassionate and patient demeanor towards animals and owners
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and workflows efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Computer skills and typing
- Basic math skills are required (you will be asked to complete a short math skills test during the application process)
