Job Title: Brake Press Operator
Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM 10:00 PM
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator with at least 2 years of proven experience in Brake Press operation and setup. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Brake Press machines to produce high-quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while meeting production goals and adhering to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate the Brake Press and other production machinery, or assist other machine operators.
Select proper die clearances based on material requirements.
Set up tooling, load programs, and adjust machine parameters to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor tool conditions and determine when re-sharpening is required.
Verify dimensions of workpieces, ensuring first-piece inspection approval.
Enter commands or manually adjust controls to correct malfunctions or deviations.
Conduct quality inspections throughout production to maintain high standards.
Identify and address causes for rejected parts to minimize waste.
Collaborate with team members to improve productivity and efficiency.
Minimize setup times and maximize safe equipment utilization.
Assemble items as directed by supervisor.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety rules (safety glasses required at all times).
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of Brake Press operation experience.
Proven Brake Press setup experience required.
Ability to read micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and blueprints.
Strong mathematical and fraction/decimal conversion skills.
Familiarity with Amada Press Brake machines preferred, but not required.
Ability to identify material types (Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel).
Capable of working with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in other shop areas as needed.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Overtime may be required when scheduled by supervisor.
Education & Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) certification is a plus.
