Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire

Pay: $19.10–$32.28 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Engineering Liaison Specialist II to support an engineering and model shop team. This position will be responsible for fabricating engineering prototypes, mockups, and fixtures, as well as setting up and supporting engineering tests. The role will also assist with packing evacuation systems and other model shop tasks as directed by management.

Responsibilities

• Set up mockups, wind machines, and various engineering equipment in the correct locations for testing using material handling equipment.
• Read and comprehend test drawings, sketches, and test plans.
• Build engineering prototypes in a wood shop using power tools, including power drills, drill press, jig saw, table saw, circular saw, nail gun, grinder, rivet gun, and similar equipment.
• Perform welding operations to build or modify mockups, metal frames, and leg structures.
• Understand material behavior and properties, including wood, composites, metals, and polymers.
• Inspect test center equipment and complete daily checklists, including chemical cabinets.
• Operate tele-handler (Type VII rough terrain), forklift, scissor lift, and pallet jack.
• Prepare rate test setups and participate in jump testing events.
• Work independently or as part of a team as needed.
• Support trips to local vendor facilities.
• Maintain organization and tool control throughout the wood shop and welding shop.
• Follow safe work practices and contribute to health, safety, and environmental programs.
• Assist with packing evacuation systems and other model shop activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by model shop management.

Requirements

• Welding experience and/or welding certification.
• Woodworking and metal fabrication experience.
• Construction experience, including heavy machinery.
• Experience safely operating power tools and material handling equipment.
• Ability to read drawings, sketches, and test plans.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Must have a clear background check
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational or technical training.
• Experience with prototype, mockup, or model shop work.
• Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, or tele-handlers.
• Familiarity with wood, composites, metals, and polymers.

Pay: $19.10 - $32.28 per hour
